PLN Batubara gets new boss, to supply 5 million tonnes in 2011

PT PLN Batubara, the coal trading unit of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will supply 5 million tonnes of coal to PLN’s power plants in 2011 compared with this year’s target of 3 million tonnes, the new company’s president director said. 

Khairil Wahyuni, who was installed on November 22, 2010 as PLN Batubara’s new president director replacing Indriantono, said that PLN Batubara is expected to get the majority of coal supply from Kalimantan cola miners, but he did not diviluge the names of coal suplliers.

He said that in the long-term plan, PLN Batubara will acquire coal mines in Indonesia. “Currently, we are studying to aquire coal mines in East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, South Sumatra and Papua,” he said without giving further details.

In the installment ceremony, besides Khairil, Pudji Widodo was elected as new operation director. The new finance and administration director now is Toharuddin.
